Live - “Modulator ESP”
August 18, 2008 on 8:51 pm | In News | No CommentsHere is a great chance to grab a great live recording performed by Modulator ESP.
In his own words…
Played an experimental ambient/drone/sequencer set at a local experimental music night on Saturday. It went pretty well, got a very enthusiastic response from a mostly new audience
Used my new Andromeda lots, with plenty of Nord G2 and Prophet VS
here’s the recording - warning - not for the faint hearted

Space Drone Trilogy - Endpoint
August 4, 2008 on 5:44 pm | In News | No CommentsSomnarium, one of our regular visitors, has released three new offerings for you… and they are mighty nice too.
Endpoint Trilogy: The first is called Endpoint 1: Deep Space Drones, the second is Endpoint 2: Veil of The Night and the final is named Endpoint 3: Siderial.
Endpoint contains an hour of unearthly void emanations charting the deepest reaches of the universe. Minimal droning structures unfurl to focus the minds eye on the ultimate endlessness of nothingness. Repeated low volume playback in total darkness is strongly recommended.
Endpoint 2: Veil of The Night explores the realms of atmospheric space drone. A continuation of the themes emerging from Endpoint: Deep Space Drones, this release includes a variation on the original Nova Persei track from the Abstractus Somnarium album.
Endpoint 3: Siderial is the concluding album in the Endpoint space-drone trilogy. Airless drones emanating from the outermost reaches of the cold void through to dusty ponderings upon the desolate scape of the moon. This album is not compatible with the light of the sun.

Zeitlos & Hashtronaut: “Darksong Rising”
April 22, 2008 on 12:37 pm | In News | No Comments
Zeitlos and Hashtronaut have released a collaboration called “Darksong Rising”as Pylene 50. It is the first time that they have played together and recorded the whole track in one take with no preparation… and it’s all live too! No second takes or dubs so what you hear is pure improvisation and raw.
The only mixing done was done by Hashtronaut after the recording was finished.
The track which is called “Darksong Rising” is a whopping 80 minutes and is free to download from their new Virb site.
You can listen to it by clicking here.

I received an email from Maxim V. Komov of Silent Drift expressing an interest in releasing future tracks on our label (which I am flattered). Of course, I had to check out his tracks first… man, they are good. Very good… here is the original email:
Hello!
I would like to present to you the first release of ambient / experimental /
drone project Silence Drift - Aircode. This release is a kind of imaginary
soundtrack to walk on deserted night city. Material for this release was
inspired by a series of photographs that was taken by Alexei Seliverstov. We would like to be able to release this release and our future creations on
your label.Aircode extracts available here - http://www.myspace.com/silencedrift
Feel free to listen it !
Thanks,
Maxim.
Now I’ve taken a listen to their stuff and found it a gorge fest of ambience. Swirling pads, simple guitar licks, lonely piano… drones. This is amazing stuff and I highly recommend that you take a listen to these guys and unwind to these exceptional tracks that have to offer. At the moment they have three which are all stunning and unique.
And if that doesn’t wet your appetite then check out their video…
Inspiring music and visuals! A treat for all ambient heads.

Since I launched Ambient Collective I have never really looked into how many of our releases have been listened to or downloaded. I took a quick peek at our archive and realized that we’ve done quite well and I was pleasantly surprised to be truthful.
Take a look at the stats:
- Colours: 10469
- Infinite Space: 9801
- Space Collaboration: 8798
- Whispers In The Night: 8287
- “Something Old, Something New…”: 7782
- Space Collaboration: 8798
- Places of Importance: 6287
- Winter: 5459
- Horizon: 1715
- Light: 1275
- Dark: 1225
- Best Of Ambient Collective Volume One: 141
Now that’s a grand total of… 62225!!
An amazing achievement and a well done and a huge thank you to those that are helping to continue spreading our work across the globe! Every little helps.
It’s just a damn shame that the “Best of…” and the “Light and Dark” series are being overlooked. They are awesome releases but I can’t plug them all on my own… so help us spread the word ![]()
With two new collaborations in the works and the next “Best of…” being mixed by myself, it looks like we may have a busy few weeks ahead with more downloads to bolster our success… and yours too.
